Travelers Championship Update...

For those who didn't like the Memphis experiment -- sorry -- pencil in the Travelers next year because we're doing it then. Why? Because the guy who won it came into the weekend eight shots back. This tournament consistently provides Sunday dramatics because of the scoring conditions and course layout favors no player - short or long. Streelman (Nick's man crush) was +2 thru 8 holes then went bonkers carding 8 birdies in his last 10 holes including seven straight to finish, shooting a smooth 28 on the inward 9.

Top picks this week were provided by Matt Saler (Sergio) and Chris Edwards (KJ) moving both up from the high teens to 10th and 11th respectively. The winner pot now sits at $60. We have six more regular tourneys and two more majors. By my unofficial count one could still net $12 if you ran the table. Now that would be a streak. Tiger anyone?

US Open Recap

Boring? Well maybe a little bit but that was an amazing performance. The tournament was over when Mr. Kaymer shot -5 on Thursday afternoon. Why, because the dude shot 3 better than anyone that day and he was playing in the afternoon. He then proceeds to shoot the same number on Friday morning opening up a HUGE lead. The only chance he opened up was quickly closed on Saturday when he drained a 20 footer for bogey after taking a penalty drop then following up with an eagle on the next hole.

My brother-in-law and I took my boys on Saturday. Pretty awesome experience albeit a bit hot. Next time we go on a week day instead. I've attached a picture of us before heading into the tourney here. We settled into a great spot right at the #9 tee (where Zach made ace) for seven groups. Lots of fun back and forths could be heard between caddies and players. Dean got a golf ball from Danny Willett's caddie -- a nice birthday treat.

Ok, as for the pool we didn't have much movement although several in the top 10 creeped closer to Jen as she had Dufner and he MC'd. The top picks were Jason Day (Horton and Saler) and Dustin Johnson (Wilson) they each net $43. The full standings...
