Memphis Update

The pick after the cut experiment was an interesting one. Given the chance to take one player who had already made the cut made many of you freak out. Some didn't like it from the start and the fact that there was a weather delay and a huge lead did make it much less interesting and strategic. I still contend it's a fun way to try something different mid-season when many feel they are already out of it. We will do it again - next year.

Why? Despite the fact that everyone (EXCEPT ME) could take Crane, only 23 did. Of course they were rewarded but other picks proved my point that after two rounds in a PGA TOUR event you still really have no clue.

Lastly the standings were little changed from the previous week. Only  3 people moved into the top 10.

Carl Petterson - T3
Billy Horschel - T6
JJ Henry - T13
Phil Mickelson - T11
Jason Bohn -  T24
Retief Goosen - T32

Crown Plaza Update...

Adam Scott cements his No. 1 ranking with a win. Nobody picked him but why would you, he's the definition of "major worthy." Something fun to think about... Appearance fees. Why else would Adam Scott have been playing in Texas when he could have played for more money and more WGR points at the BMW in England. The PGA Tour doesn't have them officially but when you see instances like this one, it's pretty obvious. Also fun to note that Phil Mickelson hasn't played the Crown Plaza since they stopped sponsoring him.

Some other solid picks this weekend besides Scott including John Senden. He helped Tommy O'Sullivan move back into the top 10 in the rankings...

HP Update

Lots of good picks. Jake into the top 10 on strength of Leishman finish. How about Weir! Wouldn't mind seeing the ole Canuck have a career resurgence.

Didn't watch much golf. My favorite sports highlights of the weekend...

1.) Wilford Brimley's horse winning the Preakness
2.) Miguel Cabrera high fives fat kid on Sunday Night Baseball

Wells Fargo Championship

Feast or famine this week. Cale feasted with a solo pick of J.B. Holmes jumping into the top 10. Other top picks included Brian (holy crap yes me!), Nick and Sue with Jim Furyk. Jen has hit a mini slump allowing some to close the gap, thanks for keeping it interesting Jen!

Keep grinding folks, we're at about the mid-point in the season as far as money available goes. Big money coming this weekend at the Players, chose wisely.

Zurich

Noh way! Seung-Yul Noh earned his first PGA Tour victory in NOLA. The 22-year-old kept his composure and fired a 1-under 71 on Sunday to grab the title.

A lot of carnage in the pool this week. I don't think I've ever seen so many MCs. Luckily for everyone, those that did see the weekend didn't earn enough to make a big impact.

Updated standings below. I'll be taking picks again this week as Brian is on paternity leave. Continue to send them to kyler@imre.com.

RBC Heritage

I didn't watch any golf this weekend, but good to finally see Matt Kuchar seal the deal. That birdie chip for the W on 18 was awesome. Guy has been in contention every week the last month or so. Surprised I was the only one that used him.
