Genesis Open Update

Thanks a lot Hideki! Damn this pool. There were 8 left in the cuts made streak, now just 5 remain (in bold below) thanks to the Japanese wonder kid and Snedecker. Let's play a game of one of these 2017 rounds is not like the others shall we?
65, 67, 65, 73, 69, 68, 66, 70, 66, 67, 67, 69, 71, 70, 71, 72, 65, 68, 68, 66, 68, 80

Mike, Travis and Jason got a win with DJ which moved them to 2nd, 10th and 12th in the pool. He's now number one in the world but netting $1.2M was probably worth not saving him for a major. They also split $50 that was rolling over in the winners pot. Perhaps the best pick of the week goes to Mr. Henry who picked the young lad Thomas Pieters who finished T-2.

Waste Management Update

I watched more golf yesterday than I have since the 2016 Masters. That was not pretty. Pretty sure I would have seen more birdies in my regular game on back 9 than the final pairing. How about 40 (An), 37 (Laird) and 36 (Peterson). Add to that Webb's two limp attempts for the win in the playoff and it just wasn't pretty.

On a much more positive note, Hideki is a machine! Guy has 5 straight top 5s in this tourney. Five of you were paying attention and picked him. All of you are now in the top 10 and also earned $25 each for the W. The biggest move was made by Bill Horton who jumped from 50th to 10th. It was feast or famine this week with 18 people taking $0 but not one of the remaining 9 in the cuts streak dropped out.

Housekeeping...

- All entry fees are in, the full $5,000 pot breakdown can be found at the bottom left on the excel sheet.
- 2017 playoffs will expand to top 12 from regular season.
- Pat Perez WD'd after playing 6+ holes, those who picked him can't use him again.
- MDF - modified cut does count as a cut made for the TOUR and in our cuts made streak. This happens when there is a second cut AFTER the third round.

Farmers Update

Not the best week of picks ever for the pool. Tons of MC's and quite possibly the worst pick in pool history. I'm sorry to pick on you George but you don't pick the #1 player in the world in a non-major. Even if Day wins the tourney it's not a great pick, since he MC'd you have made the short list for worst pick in pool history - majors are worth double - if you didn't know that I blame it on Gray! With this week's carnage, we're down to just nine left in the cuts made streak.

Who made good picks this week? The law firm of Speranzini & Scoopmire both picked Charlie three sticks, his second place finish helped them both move up into the top 12 which incidentally is our new playoff cut line.

Career Builder Challenge

Greetings all! Back from the rainy Palm Springs. No, didn't get to the tournament but did have a nice time at our tire launch. A big thanks to Kyle for running the pool for two weeks. Nobody picked Hudson Swofford this week so the winner's pot rolls over and is now worth $100. We also lost a lot of folks in the cuts made streak with favorite Jamie Lovemark missing the cut. If your name is in green at the top of the excel sheet you're still in it. The winner will receive $400 with second place taking $225.

Below are updated standings with paid status. If you don't see paid next to your name it's time to get busy. Mail me a check this week or pay on PayPal. Next week your pick won't be accepted. Also, if you're thinking about bailing and not paying because you have sucked the first 4 weeks don't do that. You're not out of it and I'd hate to blacklist you and whoever invited you to play.

Sony Update...

Justin Thomas goes back-to-back. Starts Thursday with a 59 and wins by seven strokes. Dude is en fuego right now. Too bad no one took him.

The bigger news this week is the damage done in the cuts made streak. More than half the pool was knocked out. Those that move on are highlighted in green on the Excel chart.

Tour moves to the left coast this week...

And if you haven't done so, please send Brian your entry fee this week. You know who you are.

SBS Update...

Did you know SBS stands for Seoul Broadcasting System? I'm not kidding. Look it up.

Some solid earnings this week as six folks picked Thomas and a quite a few Matsuyamas. We're one week in and I'm already a $1 million back from the leader. Good thing there are eight months to go!

For those wondering, due to the amount of winners and the small pot, we're rolling over the cash to this week's tournament. Rule of thumb, if the pot total averages out to less than $5 a person, it rolls over.

On another note, the cuts made streak begins this week. Choose carefully.

The standings will shake out in a couple weeks once people earn more money. For now, check the number above your name on the Excel chart.
