Sony Update

Mike, Bill and Ryan are off to a good start with the same picks in Patrick Reed at Hyundai and Brandt Snedecker at the Sony. On the other end we had a record 11 players knocked out of the cuts made streak with either NP or MCs.

Perhaps most importantly, yesterday we were able to capture a photo of the 2015 champion Joe Eber. The photo to the right was taken at SLOW's in Detroit, possibly the classiest place we've captured the winner's photo in tourney history.

Final Playoff Results

Live by the Spieth, die by the Spieth. Allen rode Jordan to a win at the Masters but didn't go with him at the TOUR Championship and it cost him the first season sweep in PGA TOUR Challenge history. Joe Eber came from behind with solid picks of Spieth, Stenson and Fowler to capture his first playoff championship. Joe wins $500 and will have his name etched in history on the perpetual trophy next to his little (huh?) brother Mark!

Richard Rapkin ($200) moved into second by also picking Spieth (maybe you guys have heard of him), Fowler and McIlroy. Freedman ($150) dropped to third due largely to surprisingly poor play from Day, Rory and Rickie. The final playoff standings and earnings are below, enjoy the off-season, we'll start back up with the tourney in Maui whatever it will be called next year.

Joe Eber - $2,822,325 - $544
Richard Rapkin - $1,910,040 - $241
Allen Freedman - $1,676,812 - $688
Jim Fisher - $1,545,342 - $159
Jeff Henry - $1,468,775 - $57
Bill Horton - $1,128,600 - $40
Chris Edwards - $1,099,376 - $20
Don Adams - $970,608 - $281
BJ Sweeney - $930,600 - $27
Scott Stein - $773,987 - $37

A quick breakdown as we head into the final tourney before the playoffs...
  • If your name is in red you're eliminated. Make a good pick and you could take $140 as your parting gift.

Quicken Loans Update

Troy Merritt notches his first win. The biggest win for a BSU Bronco since they knocked off Oklahoma in that bowl game that one time when the guy proposed to his cheerleader girlfriend in the end zone. Remember that? That was awesome.

Nobody picked Troy and I'm not sure why I just went Chris Farley on this blog. It's getting late on a Monday. Below are the updated standings.
